10.2.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 83. The nature of Christ.

DEVOTION: “And what is belief? Let me sum it up in a few sentences. To believe is to have the knowledge of Him in whom you believe. It is not to believe in the word Jesus, but to believe in the nature of Christ, to believe in the vision of Christ, for all power has been given unto Him, and greater is He who is within you in the revelation of faith than he who is in the world (see 1 John 4:4) (pg 128)

Not to believe in the word Jesus but to believe in the nature of Christ, to believe in the vision of Christ. To believe that He is greater than anything you will come against in this world. Anything.

The nature of Christ:

The list goes on and on.

These characteristics, these traits. These are the things to strive for. They are truths that we need to continue to pour deep into our souls. Into our hearts. Into our every day actions.

These traits, these characteristics, the nature of Christ can only come by one road. We need to have the Spirit living in us to impart these traits into us.

Today. Talk to the Spirit of God in you. Ask for these traits. Ask for holiness, faithfulness, forgiveness, compassion, love, purity, kindness, generosity, humbleness.

Let the nature of Christ be your nature today.

PRAYER: Ask the Spirit of God in you to give you the traits of Christ.

Amen. Believe. Just thinking about that word strengthens me. Trust in Christ and belief will come from Jesus. Not easy to do or act on every day, but an attainable goal. Rest in his love and know that he has greater things for each of us than we can even believe. God is good!

The nature of Christ is also the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Since the Holy Spirit is in us, these qualities are also in us. As we yield to and cooperate with Him, He will manifest these qualities in and through us.
