10.1.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 82. With us.

DEVOTION: “Paul did not have any power of his own that enabled him to use the name of Jesus as he did. But when he had to go through privations and the difficulties, and even when all things seemed as if they were shipwrecked, God stood by him and caused him to know that there was Someone with him, supporting him all the time, who was able to carry him through and bring out what his heart was longing for all the time.” (pg 124)

This is a beautiful passage. The human-ness of Paul surrounded by the assurance of God with him.

Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

There are countless verses that remind us that God is with us. Always. Walking with us, guiding us, being the hand that we can hold.

Yet…so often, we feel as though He is not there. We so often have these “Closer To You” moments where we say, “are you really with us, are you really there?”

Today. Dive into these verses and do some more research on the phrase God with us. The Spirit in us is longing for our hearts to be filled with God, filled with the assurance in ourselves that Jesus is with us.

Today. God is with you. Seek Him.

PRAYER: Pray today that God would reveal Himself to you on a daily basis, an hourly basis. Pray for a deeper desire for God today.

OH AMEN! Jesus is always with us , by the power of His Holy Spirit. Zep 3 :17 is such a favorite scripture and I will be declaring it all day for sure ! I love to visualize Jesus , not just singing over me but” exulting” over me with loud singing !” Rejoicing” over me with loud singing ! awesome ! . . and” Fear Not”!…from Isaiah and” Be Strong and courageous”,from Joshua , and to pray without ceasing because we are promised in Matthew 18:20 ” For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them. ” Paul endured all those trials, because Jesus was with him, in the midst of all of them, I know I am repeating but I cant help it , so awesome !!! Continued prayers for all and this ministry !

and even when all things seemed as if they were shipwrecked, God stood by him and caused him to know that there was Someone with him, supporting him all the time, who was able to carry him through and bring out what his heart was longing for all the time.”

I had a phone call with someone yesterday… we shared, with each other, some of our broken pieces. Not in a ‘misery loves company’ way but more of ‘we are fighting the good fight of faith’. After the call, I finally understood

    James 5:15-17

15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Anything not of God is sin…sickness, pain, worry, confusion…is sin. The active pulling down of strongholds until victory, isn’t that why we have the cross? Redemption again and again. Turning to God, surrendering the struggle, inch by inch, has got to be pleasing to God. Aren’t we like the butterfly struggling our way out of the cocoon? However. the butterfly struggles alone; we were given community. He is with us…always and forever….and at times, he gives a tangible reminder in the form of a friend.
