1.6.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 Timothy 4:8-10. Hope.

PRAYER: Prayers up today for a wife that lost her husband and 4 kids who lost their dad. Prayers for comfort during this time.

DEVOTION: “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.” – 1 Timothy‬ ‭4:8-10

Where does your Hope lie? In things of the world? In your job? In your spouse, family? In the broken promises of the world? None of these can be the ultimate answer.

Our hope lies in Jesus. The only true living God in our lives. Our savior and redeemer.

We’ve been taking a look at our lives and the stuff in our lives over the last few weeks. Let’s continue to examine ourselves and our “hopes”. It’s a good question to ask. Where does my hope lie? What’s the long term goal? What’s the end game here?

Hope. A feeling of expectation, of something to happen. It’s springs eternal when focused on something that you can believe in.

Jesus.

The author of hope. The giver of hope. The inventor of hope. Our savior and strength.

Today. Think long and hard about your hope. About what your hope has been and what it should be.
