1.5.21 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on prayer. Part 50. Passion.

DEVOTION: “Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith. I don’t agree at all. They are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions, they are, if we so take them, our share in the Passion of the Christ. For the beginning of the passion, the first move so to speak, is Gethsemane.” (Pg 145)

The first part of this paragraph is incredibly important. So many folks in our community are beaten down by stress, guilt, anxiety. Today, we are all here to universally state that our anxieties, our fear, our guilt, our shame. They are all afflictions. They are not sins. They are nothing but an affliction, a sickness, that we need to slowly recover from.

Christ endured the cross. The greatest test anyone would ever have to go through. We endure anxiety, stress, fear, loss, pain, suffering. A bit of a different level of pain and suffering but still suffering, none the less.

Today. The guilt is gone. The shame is gone. We each have our own flaws, our own issues. No one is perfect….but Jesus.

He loves us with a love that we can never comprehend.

Today. Think of all that you endure. Surrender it all to Jesus. Pray about it today and if you’re comfortable, list it in the comments so that we can pray for you as well.

Please pray for our dog run this coming Saturday. That the dogs will know that they are coming to a safe zone and have a second chance. May there be no more fear (as they are in horrific conditions in a facility being shut down for cruilty.) May they just feel loved. Pray for safe travels for Judy and myself as these amazing God made dogs travel with us. May they feel they are safe as they travel from Georgia. May God provide forever loving homes for them.

I ask for prayers for the second half of my time here in GA. I know my mantra is God is strong. I’m strong. I’ve got 4 more written exams and numerous practical exams. Dear Lord guide my mind to absorb the knowledge and bring it to the exams as they come up. Amen.

      Colossians 3:23-24.

‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.’

One thing I’m still struggling with is trusting people because of hurt.
