1.5.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 Timothy 3:2-5. Characteristics.

PRAYER: Please pray today for some of our MNW community who continue to struggle in finding jobs. Pray that opportunities would open up.

DEVOTION: “So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach. He must not be a heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle, not quarrelsome, and not love money. He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him. For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?” – 1 Timothy‬ ‭3:2-5

Reading over this this morning. Paul’s list here is a great one to live by even if you’re not focused on being a church leader.

To be wise.

To be hospitable.

To be loving.

To live with self control.

To live with morals and honesty.

These are all amazing character traits. Those that will lead to an honest life. A life that will be peaceful. A life that will be a good example to others seeking Jesus.

Today. Take a peek at your life. Your walk. How much of it resembles the list above? Where can you improve? No guilt here, just a check in where a check in is due. God calls us all to a life above all others. To be an example of Jesus in our walk. Let’s examine ourselves and change what needs to be changed.
