1.3.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 Timothy 2:1-4. Pray.

PRAYER: Please take a minute and go through our Thirty Minute Thursday broadcast over at daveonfacebook.com – there were prayer requests there that need to be prayed for.

DEVOTION: “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” – 1 Timothy‬ ‭2:1-4

Speaking of prayer, Paul is diving right in this morning. Let’s examine our prayer lives shall we? I’m starting to take a section of time in the mornings to meditate and pray. This is something I was doing last year and got sidetracked and pulled away from. I want to bring it back.

Paul is urging us to pray for all people, not just the ones we like. Pray for those in authority and those in positions of leadership and power. Even if you don’t believe they should be there.

He hints at something we chatted about a few days ago in our Devotions Podcast over at worshippodcast.com. God wants everyone to be saved. Everyone. There is no favoritism here.

So today. Take a look at you prayer life. Modify it. Change it and make it new. Take this January to start fresh and bring a new season of prayer into your life. Lives may change because of it.

Amen ! There is tremendous power in prayer, in coming before the God of the whole universe, He is our Father and He wants us to come to Him in prayer. I know, I have pulled back too, and I allow to many distractions to pull me away, but truly, its just about makin the decision each and every morning , working or not, to put time with Jesus, Abba and Holy Spirit first. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His rightiouanwaa…..one thing I am doing this year is studying the Bible in two different translations then the one I am so used to, one is The New Living Translation and the other study Bible I am diving into is The Restoration Bible from the Christian Standard Bible…………but as you state in this devotion Dave, prayer is the key, and its a key that opens many doors………praying for you, the band, the Florida tours, and also that you take time away and alone to be restored , and rejuvenated…….we all need this time so badly………….praying for our MNW family……….
