1.11.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 Timothy 6:9-10. Contentment continued.

PRAYER: Pray today for contentment. That God would settle your heart and that your desires would be His desires.

DEVOTION: “But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” – 1 Timothy‬ ‭6:9-10‬

Paul takes a longer look at this issue in the next few verses.

This desire for wealth, for more, for bigger. It can lead to ruin and destruction. We see and hear about this often in the news. Temptation and desire for money leads to many a downfall.

This phrase…”have pierced themselves with many sorrows.”

So very true. Again, this striving for wealth. This unhealthy desire for money is so consuming it can takeover.

Let’s pray today against that. Of course we need it to live and get things done but let’s pray for our hearts to remain pure from an unhealthy desire for money, for stuff.

Jesus today, curb any desire that is not of you. Increase our desire for you and decrease our desire for anything that leads us away from you.

Today. Be strong. Be made new by your desire to seek Him first above all else.

Amen ! Yes Matthew 6:33 is to be our goal every day, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. ” In psalms this morning , and can there be any greater place , than to be in His Presence, Ps 31:20 ” You shall hide them in the secret place of Your Presence, ” ……..let me be a reflection of You , Jesus, to know Him and to make Him known !!! Continued prayers, and thanking our Father in advance for all He will do through these shows in Florida !
