1.1.21 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on prayer. Part 46. Partner.

Happy new year!

DEVOTION: “The difference, we are told, between a servant and a friend is that a servant is not in his master’s secrets. For him, “orders is orders”. He has only his own surmises as to the plans he helps to execute. But the fellow-worker, the companion or (dare we say?) the colleague of God is so united with Him at certain moments that something of the divine foreknowledge enters his mind. Hence his faith is the “evidence”—that is, the evidentness, the obviousness—of things not seen.” (Pg 129)

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1

A partnership with God.

As we begin a new year I think this is a fine place to start. The idea that we are in a partnership with God is an intriguing idea. It’s not just us throwing prayers to the ceiling of heaven and trying to see which ones stick. It’s a partnership with an ally. A loving Father wanting to partner with His children.

As we roll into a new year, think about your prayer life this way.

I’m partnering with God in 2021. I’m leaning on Him for it all. I’m doing my part in the relationship that we have to make things better.

He’s moving things around in ways that we can’t even begin to know. Our job is to follow His lead and work together with Him.

Welcome to 2021. May it bring you newness that you’ve never experienced before.

Seek Him and partner with Him today.

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14-15)
This passage has been my guide through the past few years of my life. As we go into 2021 it has now become my PRAYER, to partner more closely with GOD so I may carry out that which He places on my heart! “orders is orders”!
