1.1.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 Timothy 1:15-17. Reflection.

PRAYER: Today. Pray for the new year. Pray for direction, guidance and clarity again. Pray that God would move in all of us in a deeper and stronger way as we seek Him each day.

DEVOTION: “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” – ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:15-17‬

To save sinners. This is the core of Jesus’ mission. To save all of us as we are all sinners. Paul drops that wonderful line….of which I am the worst. I love his honesty and simplicity at times.

He goes on to talk about how mercy was shown to him so that he could display patience to others and be an example of Jesus to others. Again, this notion and thought of being a reflection of Jesus comes into play. This thought of Jesus being such an intricate part of our daily lives that we have no choice but to reflect His goodness and mercy to others so that they may be saved and given eternal life because of their knowing Jesus.

Whoa. Such a heavy statement but on point for sure.

So. We are this reflection so that others can see Jesus in us and come to know his love and mercy so that they can have eternal life.

What a way to start the year!

Today. Be a reflection of Jesus. Shine his light so others can see it in you.
