hey everyone. hope you’re well and the week was great. we had an amazing evening this past Monday on facebook. these worship nights are turning into something very special and encouraging for so many people and it’s just been great to get to know you all better. can’t thank you enough for being involved. please continue to share the posts & engage in the conversations. here’s the video if you didn’t catch it:
We talked on monday evening about Matthew 5 & Jesus’ comments about us being the light of the world. Here’s the passage:
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
I love this passage. I am reading through the bible chronologically and this was Monday morning’s scripture. We are the light of the world. Really? Sometimes I just don’t feel it. Sometimes it’s hard to even grasp that there is this light in me that shines. But it does. Brightly. I am in the unique position to be able to force it to shine. Not everyone has that ability. I get to be on-stage and make this light shine. Sometimes, some nights, some shows, it’s harder to make that light shine. There are just days when you don’t think you’re the light. Jesus, the light inside us, makes us shine. The closer we are to Him, the brighter the light will shine. I’ve seen it. I’ve noticed it. As i’ve been really focused on Him, His word, His awesomeness over the last few months, He shines. Even in the darkness, He shines. There is no darkness in Him, only light. We are meant to be light in this very dark world. Today. Be the light. Shine. Don’t let anything get in the way of your light. I know. There’s life. There’s hurt. There’s pain. But there’s also hope. There’s also help. Ask for help. Ask Jesus for help. Ask people you know to pray with you. Ask people you know to help you turn the light back on or make it brighter. We need to be the light. We need to be the hope.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for following. Thanks for sharing & caring about what we do. We can’t do this without you.
Hey everyone, thought I’d post our Facebook livestream from Monday night here. Enjoy. It’s long but worth it. Here’s the video. enjoy.

1.14.16 – Happy new year! Thanks for reading this note. A real quick update. We are leading worship for a bunch of high school kids up in Lake Champion, NY next week. We are SO looking forward to this. The last time we were up there we were with a bunch of junior high kids and it was amazing. To be able to help shape these kids faith, to be able to lead them in worship & worship with them is just incredible. Please pray for us, pray that God would move in these kids even before they get there. Pray that their hearts would be opened as they walk into the sessions and as they sing with us. Thanks guys, so amazing to have you with us.
This coming weekend would be impossible without our monthly supporters. Lake Champion isn’t close & the camp has a very low budget. Hey everyone, hope your weeks have been going well. we’ve been playing some fantastic shows & it’s been great speaking to all of you before & after the shows. one thing i’m hearing is that there is a lot of hurting going on in this world and in our area. families are in trouble, people are in pain, sickness abounds, people are losing loved ones, general feelings of loneliness & despair.
i’ve been praying for each and every one of the prayer requests that have been coming in & i want you to continue to send them along. God calls us to stand together as a church body & support each other. We can do that through email, social media & through joining together at our shows and praying. I’m going to make a commitment to take time each and every day to pray for every request that comes through my inbox.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV) “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I’ll take this moment in this blog to direct you to another blog, the Desiring God blog. Click HERE for an article on prayer.
It’s hard sometimes to pray because we don’t feel as though God is listening or if He is, we don’t feel like He’s answering.
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Keep praying, keep believing. I’m praying with you. My band is praying with you. Be encouraged. God is with us.
3.16.15 – Hey everyone, hope you’re week was great. We had an amazing last weekend in Lake Champion, NY. We led worship for about 300 jr. high kids. Such incredible energy in the room during all of the sets. We played a good mix of worship stuff along with some top 40 tunes ala Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran & One Republic. The song that really won for the weekend though was “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey, such an incredible reaction. Here’s some video of it:
so cool to hear those kids singing along to such a great song.
The weekend was all about getting to know Jesus, who He is, what’s he’s done for, how much He loves us and how much He wants to have a relationship with us as we go through our lives. A daily relationship, not just an every Sunday relationship or a once in a while relationship. The speaker for the weekend was a good friend named Jim Lloyd. He really drove this point home. On Sunday morning when Jim asked if anyone wanted to start a relationship with Jesus, hands went up all over the room. So great to see.
We played “The Love of Jesus” and brought a bunch of kids up on stage to act out the hand motions from the song. Here’s some video of that:
So amazing to see so many kids lifting their hands in worship to our God. The main reason for doing this song was to get us and the kids moving in our worship to God. It tells us in the Psalms to raise our holy hands as we worship our God. I really feel that motion during worship helps us connect better with God. It frees us up and reduces distractions. If we have our hands raised, that’s a conscious effort to worship, to do something more than stand there. I try to do this often when i worship, raise my hands, tap my feet, just move so that I can concentrate & focus on the God who gave me the ability to worship. You’ll see in the middle of the video where we all raise our hands and then bring them around the person next to us, holding them. Jesus wants to hold us, he wants to be with us as we go through our days. He wants to hold us through the good, through the bad and through everything in between. This is why He came, to save lost souls, to save the sinners, to save the saints…..to save us all.
